The Newark Immigration Court will resume individual hearings in non-detained cases on Monday, July 13, 2020. For the foreseeable future, no master calendar hearings are going forward at this time. Merit cases that were already scheduled for July 13th or later will be going forward as scheduled, unless attorneys and/or respondents are notified otherwise. Hearings that were postponed due to COVID-19 will be rescheduled, and hearing notices are being sent out to notify attorneys and respondents of the new hearing dates.
Due to the delays, case status and hearing date information may not be updated in the immigration court’s system. Respondents or their representatives who are affected by postponed cases will be sent a notice of their new hearing date at least 10 days before the new hearing date. After the issuance of the new hearing notice, the automated case information system will be updated.
You can check the status of your case by telephone or online using the EOIR automated case information system. You will need your A Number in order to retrieve the information.
